I have seen people reporting this bug, ant it happens with old version of
clisp, versions older than < 2.34.

don't use the one in the common-lisp.net, it is more than a year old. 

If you are still having trouble, then please report the clisp version no. and
let us know, I will install lisp-in-a-box and see if I can reproduce it.
