#15 Sorting across years not correct

There appears to be an issue when sorting across dates: I have a column that displays dates in the MM/DD/YY format. We just noticed that it appears to be sorting correctly for the current year (07) only. The previous year (06) is not sorted.

If I sort ascending I get:

01/02/07
01/03/07
05/07/06
12/07/06

If I sort descending I get
12/08/06
9/30/06
********
1/03/07
1/02/07
