If you want to see the timings involved you can do this. Doing this would also show if there's a bug or an improvement we can make.
#1 Run rigctld-wsjtx from a cmd prompt for the FT2000 -- note the -m will be 3014 for the IC725 -- adjust COM port and baud rate for your setup.rigctld-wsjtx -m 1029 -r COM1 -s 9600 -vvvvv -Z --vfo >logrigctld.txt 2>&1#2 Run rigctl-wsjtx from another cmd prompt like this to set freq & mode on both VFOA and VFOBrigctl-wsjtx -m 2 -vvvvv -Z F VFOA 14074000 M VFOA USB F VFOB 14075000 M VFOB USB >logrigctl.txt 2>&1
Send me the files.

Hi Claude,
WSJT-X sends CAT commands to set the frequency, and mode if requested,
before going to transmit or after returning to receive. On some rigs
this can take significant time, particularly is a slow baud rate is
chosen. The bottom line is select the setting that works best for your
setup, and in exceptional cases having "Settings->Radio->Mode->None" may
be needed to get the required responsiveness.
