Hi all, If I understand well, the "Rig" setting uses 2 VFO's which are set to different frequencies, if necessary and the "Fake It" setting uses only one VFO which frequency is changed if necessary. My observation is that some rigs, having more than one VFO, have the ability to be used with the "Rig" and the "Fake It" settings, but the switching time is very different. Often, when using "Rig", the switching time becomes larger, even too large or, at least, marginal. This behaviour has been observed with the ICOM IC-725 and the Yaesu FT-2000. How often does my observation apply to other rigs ? Is this difference in the switching time only related to the rig itself or are there additional reasons ? Best wishes, Claude (DJ0OT) |
