Hi Ed. Here’s the bare bones of a systematic fault-finding approach … Try plugging speakers or headphones into the sound card’s output. Is it generating audio, when driven by any audio software? Is it muted, or set to too low a volume? In device manager, is the sound card device disabled? Is the device functioning? If not, try the universal IT solution: reboot! If sufficient audio is flowing out of the output port, maybe it isn’t reaching the radio (check the audio lead for continuity, and double-check that it is actually plugged right in to the correct holes!) or the radio isn’t listening (make sure the relevant radio input port is enabled – either line in or mic usually) and the input line/mic level is set appropriately. If there is audio reaching the radio and the radio is listening, maybe it isn’t switching to transmit due to a problem with the CAT or VOX controls (check by holding the PTT while sending audio), or maybe the rig is in the wrong mode, or maybe the rig’s power output setting is too low to see anything at the output. Maybe the rig is broken, so try the CW key or mike. 73 GL Gary ZL2iFB From: Ed Deichler <k2t...@gm...> Sent: 17 June 2019 07:39 To: WSJT software development <wsj...@li...> Subject: [wsjt-devel] No Output for WSJT-X I've developed a problem a couple days ago where I get no output when going to the Transmit mode when using WSJT-X in FT8. I switched to V2.0.1 (GA) from rc-7 to avoid having to reset the line in level each time I open the program. Everything was working fine until I logged on Yesterday AM. Nothing has changed in the Configuration settings. This problem happened a few weeks ago but things righted themselves somehow. Setup here: K3 transceiver; Gateway Core2Duo with Windows 7. I checked RTTY operation with MMTTY in AFSK-A mode and noticed that it too does not transmit. Sound card going bad? 73 de Ed |
