Dave,
Ok.  I think I got it all working.  But I am not a big mac user so I 
would appreciate it if
you could download the snapshot build and give it a try.  It has been 
tested on other
UNIX platforms so if it starts, I don't expect any problems.  It was 
built on a ppc system.
