Windows switches control sets when you log on with different accounts. Did you use a different account to install the service? -----Original Message----- From: Klingensmith, Ross F [mailto:ros...@lm...] Sent: Monday, July 18, 2005 8:16 AM To: wra...@li... Subject: [Wrapper-user] Wrapper Service Problem =09 =09 Hey all,=20 Thanks for all the responses so far for other questions I have had. With your help I now have about 10 services up and running properly. However, 1 service is causing me some problems: I have installed the service and that worked properly. Then I went to start the service and it started fine. Now the big issue: 1) if I try to stop the service, windows says that it doesn't exist=20 2) if I try to start the service it says its already running=20 3) if I try to uninstall it says its still running so cant=20 4) if I try to install it says its already installed as a service.....(which conflicts with 1.) )=20 5) the service does NOT show up under windows services when in control panel=20 I am not sure what would cause this given that all other services are working properly. If you have any idea as to how this could happen or what to do it would be greatly appreciated. (Worst case scenario I can just rename the service and run it as that, but my managers don't want to do that ) Since this was one of the first services I wrote a few weeks ago, it is possible that I changed some of the ntservice properties in the config file while the service was unknowingly running. Would that explain this problem? And is there an easy way to fix it? Thank you in advance=20 Ross Klingensmith=20 |
