Thank you (and everyone else who replied) for your suggestions.

Adding -Xrs to the grandchild processes has fixed the stopping when =
logging off problem (at least on XP Pro, am still to test on W2K3 =
Server).

I have also set "wrapper.use_system_time=3Dfalse" to use the tick based =
timer, and hope this will fix our JVM restart problems.
