Wrapper and Excelyou could have setup the service for recovery, and you have
it setup to run excel if the service fails.  see control panel |
administrative tools | services | your service | properties | recovery.

i suggest you follow the wrapper manual instructions verbatim to setup the
wrapper & try it on a brand new box.

do you realize how crazy what you're reporting sounds?

  It seems to be running fine in console mode but not in service mode
