I've used the wrapper.java.command property in the .conf file ever since
I
installed the wrapper and it had the full pathname to my
jdk1.3.1\bin\java.exe. However I have run my test again a few times
setting
this value to all JDKs I have on my system (1.1.7S, 1.2.1-V, 1.3.1-b24).
On
1.1.7 the wrapper does not work (which is normal) and on the other jvms
it
performed well. So I'm still not sure about the cause. Let me know if
you
want to try something else.

    I am glad you got things working, but for future reference, I would 
like to know the
cause was.   There was a user several months ago who posted a support
issue
complaining of performance problems.  After the initial post, he never 
replied to
any of my queries so after a bunch of investigation, I closed off the 
issue.:-/

    The wrapper accesses the register when run as a service, but only 
once at startup.
After that, nothing.   I still wonder about the possibility that you 
might have been using
the wrong JVM.  Was the path maybe changed when the sys admin modified
your
settings.   If it is not easy to reproduce, then don't worry about it.
