Hi Leif, Thank you for the update. That was a quick fix! Regards, JBrain --- On Mon, 11/2/09, Leif Mortenson <lei...@ta...> wrote: From: Leif Mortenson <lei...@ta...> Subject: Re: [Wrapper-user] Segmentation fault on Mac OSX 10.5.8 ( PowerPC G4 processor) To: wra...@li... Date: Monday, November 2, 2009, 9:59 AM JBrain, We got our PPC system back up and running and were able to reproduce the problem. It is a bug that has existed since 3.3.1. It was caused by an overflow error which has different behavior on PPC and x86 architectures.. The bug was actually in all Community edition platforms, but only appears to cause any problems on the MacOSX PPC platform. This has been fixed and tested locally and will be in the 3.3.8 patch release we have scheduled for release this week. I'm now able to successfully launch the Java Service Wrapper on our Mac PPC based machine using the 3.2.3 version. Phew! I hope this issue would be addressed in the forth coming releases ;) Thank you again, JBrain --- On Sat, 10/31/09, Leif Mortenson <lei...@ta...> wrote: From: Leif Mortenson <lei...@ta...> Subject: Re: [Wrapper-user] Segmentation fault on Mac OSX 10.5.8 ( PowerPC G4 processor) To: wra...@li... Date: Saturday, October 31, 2009, 5:01 PM JBrain, Our development and testing has been done on x86 systems for the past year. The OSX binaries are built cross platform for PPC compatibility. There have not been any other reports of problems with PPC systems however. We do have a PPC Mac Mini that went haywire last year. We will try and get it working again to do some testing this week. In the mean time, have you tried any older versions of the Wrapper? It might be helpful to know if it was working in an older version. Old versions can be downloaded here: http://wrapper.tanukisoftware.org/downloads 3.2.3 was the last version released with a true PPC binary: http://wrapper.tanukisoftware.org/downloads/3.2.3/ I will post back as soon as we have more information. Here are the brief details of the machines we are testing the wrapper application. 1. Mac OSX 10.5.8 (PowerPC G4 processor) 2. Mac OSX 10.5.8 (Core Duo Intel processor) - Java version on both the machines is 1.5.0_20 The wrapper works fine on the Core Duo processor machine but fails on the PowerPC processor machine with a segmentation fault. Unfortunately there is not much detailed information about the problem. FYI, we are running the wrapper from a console. May I ask if any one had this problem, and if yes what is the solution?
