As long as the Add Datum dialog box isn't replaced by
overlaid text boxes as in the Tabulate.Environment box
on Edit Alignment Data, it hides information on the
primary gloss of the entry and the short name of the
variety in the view that the datum is being added to.
That's a distraction for the user. They could probably be
added to the dialog box without too much fuss.
Same holds for Edit Alignment Data. Using a dialog box
makes users lose track of where they are. Its
Tabulate.Environment box shows it can be done.
