A friend of mine, who's not using nvidia's drivers at all, is experiencing the 
same problem so it seems not to have anything to do with nvidia. In my case
the userspace patch was applied indeed.

It has also happened with -rc5 (also without nvidia module).

I'll try kdb and stuff in a minute but this will take a few hours probably, as
the reboots are really random and usually take place after a few hours of uptime.

The only further information I'm able to provide at the moment (without further
testing) and which wasn't mentioned in the initial post is lspci -vvv listing:

I'll try to reproduce the almost-full-XFS thing and then eventually repost the
issue with some more specific observations.
