Example below should be similar.  

In this one we have a property BAYSERVER that can be tied to a control on a dialog.   We set the property with a custom action to default to the local computer name (this value is used to build a URL for a web application).

This part writes the registry value

        <Component Id="Mincor4AppInstallInfo" Guid="F791A6C2-1281-168B-0501-001143F0301B" >
          <Registry Id="Mincor4InstallReg" Root="HKLM" Key="Software\Baytech\Mincor4\[BAYENVIRONMENT]\Install" 					Action="createKeyAndRemoveKeyOnUninstall" />
          <Registry Id="InstBAYServer" Root="HKLM" Key="Software\Baytech\Mincor4\[BAYENVIRONMENT]\Install" 						Name="BAYServer" Type="string" Value="[BAYSERVER]" />
        </Component>

This part defines the property and the registry search to find it.

This is the custom action to set the default value (make sure it runs in either UI or non UI, but not to update the property if it is already set (ie by the Registry Search).

	    <InstallExecuteSequence>
      	 <Custom Action="SetBAYServer" After="AppSearch"  ><![CDATA[Not BAYSERVER]]></Custom>

         <Custom Action="SetBAYServer" After="AppSearch"  ><![CDATA[Not BAYSERVER]]></Custom>
       </InstallUISequence>
    </UI>

Finally you will need to make sure that the AppSearch action is scheduled.

Hi Michael,
it means the controls for input values which i am writing in Fragment
(DBDlg.wxs) will bind with the property (in main file product.wxs)?
Can you please give me a Code example for understanding this concept? In
this case to accomplish Step 1 (Server) with checkbox?
