Im curious as to why you are passing ucfirst($type) as the second parameter.
That is the first line in the code block :-)
I believe your bug is happening @ line 275

The system cannot find the associated peer type. Try putting in a die(
'peerName: ' . $peerName ); on the next line and see if it is return what
you are expecting (in this case: EventsPeer).
