[Wiserplatform-support] Wiser Platform - Install question for novice on windows

First off, my compliments to the great initiative you have set up in freely distributing the Wiserplatform. I also really like the Wiser Earth website and it is very close to what I wish for a future NGO network website in my region. 

Plans for a website
I have been searching different platforms (Drupal, Joomla, Commercial-based etc.) to build our future web presence, but with a readily available open source solution such as the wiserplatform it is hard to say no, as it has many pluses - look, simplisity, functionnality, open source -and good vibes!
Question: Where to begin - Installation
Being use to WYSIWYG approaches, with very little programming knowledge and a MS Windows user, I ask you if this platform is for me. Where to start, as it appears it is running on Unix. Although, I could eventually host the site on a Unix based system, meanwhile how do I set it up to be able to build my website as well as maintain it.

Any suggestions for the novice and MS user? Could I use a linux OS such as Ubuntu to unpack your platform? Would this meet system requirements? I guess you see where I am heading with my questions...
