#4 Journals not showing on search

I have tried to search for journals on a new
installation of Winnow and the journals do not show so
I cannot add them. I had to add the journals manually
to "Journals.dat" file via a text editor.

This may be from pubmed or from my new PC. Please
veirify this bug.

Menu> File> My Journals> Add>

After entering a word as "pathology" and clicking "
search", nothing shows up.

It would be nice to have the option to add the journal
via the "ISSN" of the journal and an option to have
the articles go directly to a folder using the Journal
"Title Abbreviation" (e.g. for the "New England
Journal of Medicine, the articles will go to a folder
called "N Engl J Med"). It would be good to be able to
sort the articles in the order they appear in the
journal (i.e. sort by volume, by issue, then by page)
if possible. An option to choose a custom "user folder
" (i.e the ".winnow") instead of having it go under
the user folder. I will add these as feature requests.

Thanks

Hmm... I don't get the same behaviour. When I serach for
Title Contains "pathology" I get a popup that says: "There
are over 150 matching journals. Try using more precise
criteria." I'm using version 0.4.2 on linux. Are you
definitely using that version? Could the popup be hidden?

If I search for Exact title "pathology" I do get the
behaviour you've described. Is that what you're doing? Is
there a journal called simply "pathology"?

    Thanks for your interest.

When searching for "Pathology", I get the same popup. When
searching for "surgical pathology" for example, nothing
shows up (there should be 3 journals). I have already
edited the "journals.dat" file to include my additional
journals. As I said, I will try to verify this on another
    PC.

Yes there is a journal called "Pathology"

    http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi?db=journals&
    term=Pathology

For that reason, having the option to add a journal using
    the ISSN would be helpful.

I am using the latest Winnow version 0.4.2 on WinXP SP2
with Java 1.5.0.0_7. The "Get Articles" option works fine.

p.s. Thank you for a great application.

I was able to verify this bug on my old PC where adding
    journals used to work properly.
