hello,

i am a new WinMyth user.
i have downloaded the 0.13 version from your website
and installed it with the filters.
i have configured the filters to match my myth backend
but as soon as i launch winmyth, i get :

-----------------------------------------------------
This application has generated an unhandled exception
processus ID = 0xc28 (3112)
thread ID = 0x958 (2392)
Click OK to terminate the software
click on cancel to debug the software
------------------------------------------------------

i have installed .net framework...
i use windows XP with all the last security patches
installed except the service pack 2
i have tried winmyth 0.12 but it does exactly the same
error...
sorry for the poor bug description but the crash occurs
as soon as i launch winmyth

I still get the same message...
sometimes the process WinMyth.exe stays as a "ghost" in
    windows memory...

it would perhaps be more helpful if i could click on
"cancel" to debug the programm as it asks me...
but what kind of debugger is needed ?
as i am a coder, i could help a bit if you tell me which
debugger to install... i could give you the exact function
which makes the software crash... or at least more informations

Do you have the latest directx?

Would you download the even-more-logged winmyth i attached
    and try again?

    Thanks! =)

The bug is coming from the directshow matting with .net, the
videoview control starts the .net directshow wrapper i
wrote. Without your machine it's very hard for me to diagnose

can you watch shows using the dsmyth filter without winmyth?

Similar problems with 0.12 and 0.13 on XP and 2K against
    0.16.20040906-1 backend.

Network myth access is working to linux frontend.

I have the same problem. I have installed it on 3 different
computers, all Windows XP, 2 with SP2, one without. It just
crashes on startup with the previous message.

I can map a drive to the mythbackend server and open
the .nuv files with bsplayer, so I'm doing that as a work
    around for now...

Thanks for all of your hard work on this!

I have the same problem though it would be a good idea to
remove service pack 2 from xp as it does do strange things
to other applications. Service pack 2 only serves to muddy
    the waters.
Example Avermedia software breaks after a service pack 2
    install.
Remove it and the exceptions stop.
