the WinTV IR remote is a proprietary device
and the best way to support it, is to write a
complete new driver.
the temporary status of winlirc doesn't use any drivers
to interact with the hardware, only API calls are used
this may be great for support all Windows versions

create your own new IR device and broke the old WinTV
remote, invest 10$ for the allround one....
