Yep. I'm a longtime user of Linux. I understand how to update Linux and as such my install is up to date. However, I'm asking because my install still says version 11.25.11 whereas the download being currently promoted is 11.26.01. Furthermore, if this distro is targeted as a replacement for Windows, one cannot assume that users coming from a Windows environment would have any idea how to update it the Linux way. I've found over the years that Linux users are very intolerant of new users and the developers of Winux should avoid this at all costs.
By the way there is a spelling error.
Do I need to reinstall the system every time an update is released?
No. Every month (usually) we release an image update, simply bringing
newer packages so that the user doesn't need to download several GB of
information using the base version. Winux is based on Ubuntu, and the
updates are provided free of charge by Canonical, the company
responsible for developing Ubuntu. The Winux team only provides
PowerTools updates and sends them automatically via OTA to all users of
the FREE and Professional versions.

No. We're simply explaining that an 11.26.01 image is just an older
image with apt-get dist-upgrade applied. If you update your packages
via discover, you'll get the same result as with a newer image.
So, you're saying the "latest" version is just the same version with a bunch of regular Ubuntu updates?
So the version number of my install will never change, not unless I download and install the latest ISO?
Just want to make sure I'm reading this right?

Just received a message saying there's a new version. Not obvious to me where I go to update my current install? It's not in PowerTools. Thanks.
Anyone?

Yes. PowerTools is what updates your installation version. When the next
update is released, your installation version will be updated along with
it.
