Hi, I recently took a few images of a FAT32 drive (with Win32 wimlib-imagex 1.5.0) and noticed that 7-zip displays 1-1-1980 for creation/modification date of the root directories.
Is this the wanted behavior?

The FAT filesystem does not store metadata for the root directory, so you shouldn't rely on any specific behavior in this case. Even so, wimlib does store the timestamps that Windows itself provides, but the method by which these are determined is not documented anywhere, to my knowledge.
