What platform are you using to play Borderlands? Are you sure this is a savegame for Borderlands 1 ? WillowTree# does not support Borderlands 2, or Borderlands Pre-Sequel savegames, only the original Borderlands and Borderland GOTY Enhanced. Savegames are supported from Xbox 360, PS3, and PC for sure. I'm not sure if savegames from either Xbox 1 or PS4 versions are supported. They may have a different save format.
A Borderlands savegame for PC or PS3 should begin with three bytes that correspond to the letter sequence "WSG". An Xbox 360 savegame that is in an Xbox 360 package file would start with the sequnce "CON", but the file stored inside that package starts with the caractres "WSG" also.. When WT# attempted to open your savegame it did not begin with those three letters. Either you are opening something that is not a Borderlands 1 save file, your save file is corrupted, or your savegame is in some unknown format. I'm unaware of whether either PS4 or Xbox One savegames share the same format as the PS3 or Xbox 360 format. I beleive the Japanese PS3 release of Borderlands 1 uses a different save format than the US or International version of Borderlands so it is not supported because I don't know how to decompress it. Xbox 360, PS3 (except the Japan release), and PC savegames from Borderlands 1 classic or Borderlands 1 Enhanced should be compatible with WT#
A save file for Borderlands should be named SAVE0001.SAV or something similar to that with a different hexadecimal number in place of 0001.

I have received several reports of this but i don't think I've seen anyone yet on the PS4 with this problem that actually has the software needed to extract savegames from PS4's encrypted save package files to get the unencrypted savegame out of them, so I can't confirm whether or not WT# supports editing PS4 savegame files.

i have this same error, it is borderlands 1 remastered on ps4.
