Some weird reason, I can't see if I accidentally selected a blank line, so I copy the item with the space, try to insert it, then it errors on me and won't let me save, and then it corrupts the save and won't let you load it.
Fix?

How exactly did you get a blank line…? And what do you mean you copied the item with the space - you're saying the "blank" line was something that had a name that was just a space, like " " (without quotes, of course) …? and you had that selected, and you copied it, and then Inserted from Clipboard… and then you saved it like that…?
You should be able to just restore the previous backup you made and all is well… and probably shouldn't be saving when you have items in the list that are clearly not correct.
Just in case - you didn't try to load the file while you still had WillowTree running, right after you saved it, did you…? When you do that, it seems WillowTree can still have the file open, and so when Borderlands tries to open it, it fails and reports a corrupt file… In that situation, you can simply cancel the load, go back to WillowTree and quit/close WillowTree, and then go back to Borderlands and try to load again and it should work.
Are you still having trouble, and/or need help..?
