I am using WillowTree# v2.2.1 and when ever I try to edit the level or quality of a weapon, when I load it back on the 360 it just says it is a level 1 gun. I know I am saving it after editing because if I load the save back up in WT the gun shows with a quality of 0 and a level of 8. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks

Figured it out. I had all the addons downloaded on my xbox but i took the system to another location without downloading the patch for the game. When I got to the new location I had all the addons but no patch information to go along with it. Willowtree was protecting my game save so thats why it wouldnt change the level.

WillowTree# wasn't protecting your savegame. It made the change that you tried to make, but Borderlands versions before 1.3 do not recognize the way that custom item levels are encoded in the later versions of the game because there were no custom item levels at release. They were added later by changing the way the quality field is interpreted when one of the DLCs was added. Once you update your version of the game, then those items with custom levels do work as expected.
To adjust the level of an item in a pre-1.3 version of Borderlands you must adjust the quality only and make no changes to the level. Any change to the level in a pre-1.3 item will always make it recognized by the game as the minimum level item. Since you can only choose quality 1 through 5, that means that there were only a few discrete levels that you could create or obtain an item of a given manufacturer and type that are distributed in the level 1-50 range. Items never can exceed level 50 in those early versions of the game.
