HI
I have put the saves onto a flash drive and extracted them with the USB explorer, but every time I try to open them in Willow Tree it says, could not open save, I even went back formatted the flash drive again and resaved the games but it still doesn't open them. Please Help
Thanks

Be sure you are using the latest version (2.2.1) of WillowTree#. There were some loading issues in earlier versions of WT#. None of the 2.1 versions could load Xbox saves at all for instance. In 2.2 the save button did not work for Xbox (but Save As did). All these bugs have been fixed in the 2.2.1 version.
If you have the 2.2.1 version of WT# then I would suggest you try to get and use Modio.
If you try Modio and still can't open the save in WT# then probably there is a bug in WT# and I will need a copy of the savegame file in order to isolate the bug and fix it. I have a number of Xbox savegames that I have no problems opening so there must be something uncommon in yours. You can post it on a filesharing website like Mediafire and put a link here, email it directly to matt911@users.sf.net,as an email attachment, or create a Tracker ticket and upload the savegame to it as an attachment.

Actually I would recommend against publicly sharing Xbox save games. It puts the console's public key inside the file which can be used by Microsoft to ban the Xbox on Xbox Live "for modding".

I did use the latest version (2.2.1), but does it have a problem in vista or are there specific requirements for saves, I will however still try the Modio because it could also be the way the USB explorer is extracting the files I have heard some problems revolving around that

Funny how an non corporate site will give you good (non automated) advice about something that could actually help without having to call a person overseas to help, in reference to EA and Ubisoft
Thanks

Oh this could be a vista file access thing if you are using Windows Vista. It may not be related to Xbox saves at all. WillowTree# has to read and write data files in its folder. If it can't do so it will be unable to open any saves. In Vista and Windows 7 you are not allowed to write to subfolders of Program Files unless you are an administrator so you would have to install WT# in a folder that a non-administrator can write to or you have to use the run as administrator option every time you run WT#. You may try to just install WT# in a subfolder of your my documents folder to see if this is the problem.
If you have an Xbox save that can't be loaded and you are worried about your Xbox ID being shared then you can just use Modio to extract SaveGame.sav from the Save00001.sav file and send that for analysis since it doesn't contain your Xbox ID. The extracted SaveGame.sav is in the same format as PS3 saves so if you try to load it in WillowTree# it will show as PS3.

I intend someday to make WT# more Vista friendly by making it so it doesn't write files in its own folder, but instead uses a folder such as \Documents and Settings\<User>\Application Data\WillowTree# or whatever the Windows-approved folder is, however I don't want to do that until I make an installer/uninstaller for WillowTree#. People would not know the files are stored there and if they just deleted the WillowTree# folder the way you "uninstall" WT# right now there would still be files left hanging around on their drive.

Just FYI if you download Modio it looks at first glance like you have to log in, but you do not. Just click the file folder icon up at the top to open. The login stuff is for VIP features or something. The basic functionality of Modio is free and requires no registration.
