We have had two two branches of development in WillowTree# for awhile, a branch based on the 2.2.1 code (albeit with significant modifications) in the uichange branch and a branch that is based on completely brand new code released by da_fileserver. Unfortunately these branches have been moving further apart rather than getting closer together, so its time for WillowTree# to pick one path and go with it.
As the active project administrator and most active developer of WT# for the past few months I've decided that WT# will be sticking with the branch based on 2.2.1 which I am quite familiar with rather than abandoning it to work on da_fileserver's new code base. The existing WT# code is by no means perfect, but I have worked on it long enough to understand its inner workings and I already know what works and what does not work in it intimately.
The WillowTree3-dev branch will be removed from WT# in a week or so. it will remain in the SVN archive where it can be fetched by revision number but there will be no current branch or any further work on it here.
I'm not sure if da_fileserver will continue work on it independently or not. HIs code shows a great deal of promise and is quite a lot more organized than the WT# code, but in the end its not compatible with WT# and I don't have the inclination to relearn all of the code from the ground up to provide adequate support. I've invested a great deal of time to understand WillowTree# well enough to fix most of the bugs that exist with it and I am not ready to throw away that knowledge and start with a whole new set of bugs.
