Make sure you are using the latest version of WT#, version 2.4.0.309 as of right now.
I cannot duplicate your issue. I copied all the weapons from the backpack in a game to the bank and they were sorted into different weapon categories. I loaded a savegame that had items in the bank already and they were all sorted into different categories. I created a new weapon in the bank and changed the parts then clicked on Save Changes and it moved to the proper category. There may be some particular action that leads to the bug like importing from xml, importing from a text file, or some way importing that I have not tested. Tthere's a lot of ways for items to get into the bank so if you can't help me figure out exactly how the items got to this state I can't fix the problem. You'll have to provide more information about what platform your savegame is from and how the items got into the Bank or provide a savegame that exhibits this behavior for me to do anything because I can't fix a bug I can't reproduce.
There are some items that do belong in the STOCK ITEMS category due to the parts they use, but legit weapons that can spawn in game do not ever use the part that would place them in the STOCK iITEMS category as far as I know. The only weapons that should be in the STOCK ITEMS category are weapoms that would show up in an unnamed category in game, such as user made items with the scorpio itemgrade part. It doesn't work to have an item category with no name since there's nothing to click to select the category so the category name for them is STOCK ITEMS instead of blank, but unless every weapon you possess is created by modding you definitely should have weapons in other categories.
Deleted all files from Willowtree. Unzipped current version. Opened a brand new save that was not imported and has never been edited in WT. There are some basic weapons in the bank. I just picked up what dropped and put them in the back. The attached screen cap is the result. All weapons under Stock Items. Those items were placed in the back in game. If I import or create a fresh gun in the editor it gets the correct catetory.
I then loaded the save game. Went to the bank and had a look. All the weapons were fine including the ones I created and the one I imported. I Exited and loaded the game in the editor. The new items were now under Stock Items just like the screen cap from before.
I then removed all Golden Chest stuff and the starter legendary's you get added automatically. Added only vanilla items to the bank and got the same result: everything in Stock Items after a save and quit.
Windows 10 Pro, Nvidia 1080, SSD drives. I do run a reshade but turning it off (removing the files) made no difference. I play in Borderless Window mode. I use an xBox One controller but got the same result using only MK.
Ok, thank you for your description and your bug report. It was helpful to enable me to reproduce the issue. I guess when I was testing I placed weapons into the bank tab by using the import and copy features and never actually by putting a weapon in at Mad Moxxi's in game. When I did that I was able to reproduce the issue and I discovered that the items in the bank have the weapon parts in a a different order than other places that they are stored in the savegame. I adjusted the code to deal with it and I believe it is fixed now. in version 2.4.0.310. It should be available for download shortly. Please report if you still have any issues with it.
