The basic idea is to produce something more helpful
when a page that doesn't exist is browsed (in regular
mode, not edit mode).
Advantages:
* less cryptic than "Describe the new page here", which
is only meaningful in an edit box
* would allow old subpages, old WikiWiki name pages,
and accidental mis-spelled pages to be eventually
deleted instead of left as redirects.
* would also catch any badly-typed URLs.
My suggestion for the new text is:
-------------------------------------
The page you have requested from Wikipedia, the free
encyclopedia does not appear to exist on the system
It may have been moved to:
< insert results of a page title search on the URL text
here, if the load on the server allows it >
You can try a search : < insert search box here >
If the page does not exist, you can write it yourself (
suitable quick intro to the wiki concept & link to
"welcome newcomers" )
