Hi Mark,
problems with Quicksearch again (both in 6.4.1 and 6.4.3). Quicksearch doesn't find all resources available, f.ex. search terms with a hyphen in both title and subtitle (but no problems in the abstract).
Consider https://www.bobc.uni-bonn.de/index.php?action=resource_RESOURCEVIEW_CORE&id=1447&browserTabID=, which has "home-grown" in the title. A qicksearch for "home-grown" (both with and without "") can't find the resource (but shows two others with "home-grown" in the abstract. Same thing with "forty-niners", but no problems with "love among", both search terms in the title.
But now even Advanced search has troubles. Quicksearch with term "chronotope" gives 14 resources, both found in titles and abstracts. Advanced search with title search for "chronotope" OR abstract search for the same (I don't use the other fields) gives only 12 resources. See screenshots (or have a look for yourself at https://www.bobc.uni-bonn.de/).
Arrgh, screenshots here
Thanks Joachim,
I'll look into the hyphen issue.
Re the 'chronotope' search. On QS, like you I found 14 results and 12 on AS (title OR abstract). I can get 14 results on AS if, on each field, I check the 'Partial word match' box. By default/design, QS provides the quickest/easiest and so least flexible search method and so also does partial word matches. This explains the difference.
Regards,
Mark
Ah, yes, Partial word match solves the latter case. Thanks for the hint!
Fixed the hyphen issue. In SVN for next release.
