The commit 94c5de7ff637d9ae876c6d6455a3f3464d47f65a caused a regression.

'_blue_@foo@_' is no longer correctly converted to '\textcolor{blue}{\texttt{foo}}'

Unit test to expose the regression will follow shortly.
