Up until now, we haven't been able to offer access to our source code to external committers, because we've been using subversion internally (and have had a -basically- crap internet connection to our dev server). In an effort to remedy this situation, we're moving to Novell Forge (who should hopefully be able to give us svn access in a few weeks).

At the same time, we've also decided to rename the project to Panther (the other name just never really sat well with me actually), and will be updating the website, and associated docs as soon as poss.... read more

New release adds partial support for stateful session beans, plus various other updates. Should be considered a semi-stable release (stateless session beans are still the only variety that have been well tested).

NOTE 1: If you're downloading with no extensions (no-ext), you'll need the following jars (added, or updated, in this release):

The latest version of wicker has just been released, adding jython scripting as a new deployment/configuration mechanism. There are various other improvements and bug fixes, with more on the way. This should be our first 'useable' release -- with a simple demo app to get you started. Comments and suggestions welcome.

This is the first public release of the Wicker Application Server (alpha). Anyone interested in using it should note that it only provides a subset of J2EE features, and is -not- guaranteed to confirm to the J2EE spec.

For example, we only support stateless session beans, and beans are truly stateless (no instance variables). We provide a basic transaction service, but it does not support XA, transactions across concurrent threads/VMs, etc.... read more
