It is possible to link a diagram to a model element by mean of the attachment tab. This can be very useful.
Now does anyone know if it is possible to show this link on a diagram, for instance next to the graphical element involved ? That would be very useful for navigating through a model, from diagrams to diagrams.
Any information available on this question is welcomed.
Eric

For navigation you have now the Attachments panel and the "Go To" context menu entry on a model element. Should be enough to jump from one element to another. Unfortunately no visualization on diagrams is provided as StarUML is rather conservatively following the UML standard in that matter. But you can still mark it with annotations when needed.

Thank you for your message but I don't see what you mean by "Go To" context menu. I searched in all menus but I didn't find anything like this.
For opening an attachment link I go into the attachment panel and click on the link. This is the only way I know ! Is there another way to proceed, more simple ?

The context menu shows up when you right click on a model (like Class) on a diagram or in the Model Explorer. If the model is of an instance type (like Object) or has attachments defined the Go To submenu should be active or greyed otherwise but always will be visible.
Btw, you need WhiteStarUML 5.5.5 or newer to see it.

I am glad it helped. While using 5.5.6 (and still Win 8) you might verify if you are able to create an ERD diagram using Model - Add Diagram - ER Diagram. Thanks in advance.

Pity. ER Diagram should show up unless there is a problem reading configuration files. So far it seems it happens on some Windows 8 machines. Maybe it has something to do with access rights. You might also take a look at the start log around loading plugins and check if it says something about ERD.

I have just downloaded last 5.5.6 version. The "Go To" choice works well. Great ! This is very useful.
Many thanks for your help.

the menu "add diagram" does not show "ER diagram". Is there anything to do before ?

loading are all OK including message "The Profile "erd" is loaded successfully".
Let me know if I can be of any help with additional tests.
I will need to prepare a build with more diagnostic messages and probably it will show something.
