I used StarUML in the past and I was trying to use some old module I created. It seems I cannot make use of the extended notation, because even if I have some nxt files and all related associations, nothing changes on the diagram.
Have you changed something on this side? Does it have anything to do with the CoreParser component??

Parsing nxt files was not touched yet. If I understand well you do not see your diagram elements in the extended notation? There is the ERD module integrated with the program and the extended notation works there at least for me. Can you test it too by creating a ERD diagram? I saw cases that on some Windows 8 machines ERD is not visible.

yes, in fact also the ERD is not working and I have windows 8.. what's the reason behind?
It requires some investigation. ERD does not have any binaries but is not loaded correctly. Any idea if StarUML works correctly on Windows 8?
