Host_Error: PF_MessageEnd_I: Refusing to send user message BlipList of 193 bytes to client, user message size limit is 192 bytes.

    I use NS v.3.1, WB v.1.03.

Does anyone know what this error means?

I've hostet many NS games on our private LAN here and I never got this kind of error message. Yesterday, after installing whichbot, I did some fun-playing in ns_eclipse by building lots of sentry turrets in my main base (and camp there) in order to test the bots. It was me (lone marine) vs. 15 or 16 whichbots. The Server ran for 1 - 1.5 hours without a problem. Today I increased the max amount of bots to 32 and got this error within minutes. I dont know if this is a direct result of me changing the max amount of bots....

I did the installation as instructed. The only other variable I changed is the % amount of onos in game.

Does anyone know what the source of this error is?

    Regards,
    VA

PS: Can the bots attack the infantry portals? I got a herd of onos storming my base and destroying the Turret Factories, but not destroying the ip?

The latest version of NS is 3.2.  Could that have something to do with it?

the section listed below is taken from the whichbots.txt file in the conf directory.  ip's have a much lower attack_value than either turretfactory.  you can increase or decrease those values as you see fit.  notice the player has a value of 100, means the bot will tear up the tf but as soon as someone gets spawned they'll ignore the tf and go after the player.

@Zim: Ah, thank you for the info, i will take a more thorough look at the file tomorrow!

@Drek: No, I dont think it has anything to do with the latest version. The 1_3 whichbot version should work fine with NS 3.1, or am I mistaken? (NS 3.2 does not work with Half-Life Classic install, which is why I stick to 3.1) Besides, like I said, I never get this error when playing without the installed whichbot files. RCBot also works fine - i had sessions with about 32 bots (rcbots) and let it ran for 2-3 hours (just for the fun of it and to look at what the bots are doing). The RCBot was a seperate installation, Im not running both whichbot and rcbot at the same time, or for that matter, I dont have both of them installed.

When you say "classic" do you mean WON?  If that is the case, that would probably be the problem right there.

NS 3.1 has a bug where it can crash a server with 16+ players in it, but that usually happened at the end of the round, not during it.  Becides, NS 3.0 and above, was not made compatable for WON HL.  Your on your own there.

If I may ask, why don't you have a steam account?

There was a "BlipList" fix plugin made for amxmodx that fixed the bliplist problem in NS 3.1.  It can be found here.  http://www.nsmod.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=2308&hl=bliplist  Sorry about the double posting.

The plugin isn't needed if he's running v3.1.1.  the link in that thread is still active if you need v3.1.1 (or, you can click here http://download.jarhedz.com/ns_beta/direct...atch_v3.1.1.zip )

good find sandman, i had forgotten about that.

Well, he did say that he had NS 3.1 and that he encountered the bliplist bug.  This tells me that he has NS 3.1 and no server side patches.  So unless he patches or updates his version of NS, he will otherwise need that amxx plugin.

Good find zim on the NS 3.1 patch.

Better yet, I still have the last server side patch for NS 3.1.  Making it NS 3.1.3.

Thank you for all your help! With the server side patch 3.1.1 the problem has been solved. (@Jeff: Thanks for the 3.1.3 link!)
I am sorry if this problem was not directly related to whichbot. I guess I just had luck when I tested my server with rcbot (with way more bots than 16).

I do have a steam account, and i did play NS a lot online (3.1), but due to studying neglected it almost a year now.
A few guys here in my dorm decided to play a round of Counterstrike, and I managed to persuade them to at least try a round of NS. I needed a bot because it would be easier for them to start off as marine and me commanding them. Needless to say, they had heaps of fun - 4 of the 9 guys do not want to play CS anymore, and the rest always prefer a round of NS over CS ^^ As a big Fan of NS, I believe I was a good missionary ;)

Still, many thanks for your input and help!

      Best regards
      VA
