#162 typing on command input line stops during output

Applies to version 0.0.26.

During output I cannot type in the command input line
(this can be reproduced for me by doing e.g. qwho which
will take long enough to make writing impossible).

This is probably not fixed, but output should be a lot more
efficent now so this should be less of a problem in 0.0.27.
