Hello,
Wefis 1.5 has been resubmitted due to some very minor issues with the commandline arguments. If you use these features, you may have been experiencing some difficulties. The current release should fix everything.
If you do not use these features, then the update is probably not worth the pain!
Sorry about this slipup,
Franchie.
Hello!
We have recently released wefis 1.5, which boasts a series of new features and bug fixes. Among them are the following:
* cgi-bin system compliance (should now install correctly to cgi-bin enabled systems)
* supports themes (though only the default one exists for the moment)
* new asynchronous file upload system (continue editing files while uploading others)
* and many many bug fixes...... read more
A quick fix for one javascript error message on file upload. This had no impact on functionality, but could get pretty annoying.
It is usually caused by a slow page load, where certain elements do not exist when they really should ;-)
This should now be fixed...
Franchie.
We have just released version 1.4.2, fixing a number of issues you may have been experiencing with wefis. There are also certain feature improvements, such as multimode-able serching (multimode operations on files matching a search criteria), as well as general UI improvements/fixes.
We have also changed certain issues with the service name; the name of the service (as you may have found) is customiseable from the config file, but certain variables were still named incorrectly, thus preventing multiple wefis installations. Fixed. If your service was not called 'wefis' before, the variables will be renamed/copied accordingly to make this version compatible!... read more
We have released a minor update for wefis, making it 1.4.1. This release aims to fix certain problems connected with editing files and multimode. We have also fixed the favorites system, and a few other bugs, such as in recursive multimode.
We hope that this will make your wefis experience better! But please keep us informed if you find any bugs,...
Thanks,
Franchie.
Hesitant aout installing wefis on your servers without knowing what it looks like?
We now provide a frontend demo; it is very limited, since sf does not support ajax, but it should be sufficient to show the concept behind wefis.
You can find the demo here: http://wefis.sf.net/demo
Have fun!
Franchie
We have just released wefis 1.4...
Wefis is a perl web-based file manager designed to facilitate file manipulation on a remote server.
There are numerous features, such as multiple file operations, tar.gz downloads of a set of files, multiple file uploads, and all basic copy/rename/move operations...
This new release mainly features an immense speed increase due to the reduction of data transferred to and from the server, a more flexible (and solid) frontend, dynamic realtime filesize statistics (for browsers supporting canvas), search functions, ...... read more
Hello!
You may have noticed that wefis has recently been translated to Norwegian and Spanish (more pending)...
In an effort to make these available to everyone as fast as possible, I have decided to make these available seperately, instead of as part of the default package: this means that you can now download the language packs, and don't have to wait for the next release...
They are waiting for you in the Files section...!... read more

Great news!
Wefis 1.3 has now been released!
It features literally hundreds of code fixes and feature implementations!
We introduced a user-friendly user-management system which interfaces to prasi (easy to understand), and several stability issues, including an automatic reconnection feature (when the current one is lost, as happens on lousy connections such as mine). There are now "guest" users with very few rights on the system (read-only), and an internal messaging system to warn the administrator of important issues, these being classified into quota-related and non.... read more
We have replaced the project CVS repos. by a Subversion one.
In the meantime, we have also uploaded the code for the coming version 1.3, and you may like to get it. The important files are in \Output (since they were translated), but the original are in the root. If you want to use this release for your server, you will need the files in Output, lang, and the remaining ones found in \.
We will package this shortly, as soon as it is cleared through beta testing, and make it available for download. This will be an update package only, since the installer for this version has not yet been quite finished. It will be shortly, however.... read more
