i just wanted to thank all the interested parties for the discussion about PostgreSQL, psycopg and idle connections. the solution suggested by Clark was the right one. what atonishes me is that i removed about 50 lines of code and i replaced them by a *single* call to a pre-existing function. it seems that the code was written from the start to work this way... given that i wrote most of it, sounds, at least, strange. aie, mysteries of programming. anyway, thanks and many kudos to you all, federico -- Federico Di Gregorio MIXAD LIVE Chief of Research & Technology fo...@mi...
