I've been using CVS for all my show and tells for the past 2 or 3 months. 
So you should be OK, unless one of the developers makes a wrong turn.

Also, if CVS were to break one day, you could always look up the cvs 
command to checkout an earlier date. Like you could grab CVS from 4 days 
ago and give that a try. It doesn't break often and when it does we 
generally fix it quick.
