What I'd *really* prefer, though, is for WebKit, in any of its incarnations, to automatically reload the app when its non-servlet classes change. For me, at least, the bulk of my code is in non-servlet classes, the application logic, the database interface, etc. Servlets (as used here, descendent from Page), are, for me, merely presentation devices. One of the best things about Resin (on the java side) is that this actually works. Tomcat has probs. With resin, all *.class changes force a reload, while *.jsp don't. I like them smarts. Since I'm a brand new user of Webware, I don't know if this has been discussed and rejected. Keith ps. Incidently, the standalone web server (forgot it's name, runs on port 8086), won't restart immediately. It binds to that port and you have to wait for the port to time out or something. If I could just ^C that one and reload to test each iteration of development, I'd be happy. |
