#274 `Hide on minimise` option freezes system
The Hide on minimise option freezes the system in Linux Mint Cinnamon 21.3.
It's possible that this is a compatibility conflict with the defaultSystem Tray applet.
STR:
- Save all your work in all apps. You may be about to freeze!
- Enable the
Hide on minimiseoption in WCM 24.02 - Minimise WCM to the tray by clicking on the minimise button in WCM's titlebar.
- Click on the WCM icon in the system tray.
- At this point, the system becomes unresponsive, except the pointer will still respond to movement (but not button clicks).
OK, this is "special" and seems to be a bug in the wxWidgets framework. There is a method to check if the taskbar ion is available on the dedicated platform. But this returns true on LinuxMint although there isn't. Actually I had implemented this to be checked already for Ubuntu where it seems to work. Therefore: I cannot o anything about it and hope that the next update of wxWidgets on Linux will resolve this issue. For now, you can and should disable the taskbar icon in the options.
