I'm not sure this app has been tested on PHP 6 yet, so I'm not sure what you are going to run into. I know PHP 6 is dropping several items although WebCal should run.
If you can install on a PHP 5 system and see if your problem goes away you might try that. PHP 6 is the new kid on the block and is going to be a more secure installation. This means that some code may need changing to work. WebCal works very well under PHP 5 so I would not expect any problems with PHP 6.
From your post it looks like this is a local server setup. Take a look at you server logs and see what is causing the problem. They should be under your Apache Logs. It could be your sever is not fully configured to run PHP 6 yet. Are you able to run some other PHP scripts? Try to run a phpinfo.php script. This will dump your PHP installation configurations. If you have set this system up yourself it may not be complete yet.

I run my scripts locally to determine the functionality before I move them to the web. I do run PHP6 for many apps both locally and on the web.
I looked at the Apache log and see errors referring to :

I don't know if these are causing the hard Apache error (odd, because these errors typically get echoed back to the browser and cause the script to die gracefully).

Yep, all of those have been removed from PHP 6 as I understand it. They have been security issues with these in the past and PHP actually defaults to register_globals = Off but I have noticed that some web host are turnning it on so that old scripts run. I now turn it off on my host in the php.ini.
I think I have seen somewhere on this forum that WebCal needs register_long_arrays to be on, but I'm not sure.
I would attempt to execute the WebCal and then go look at the error logs to see if they appear again.
I'm surprised that you found a host running PHP 6. From what I'm seeing version 6 is still under development and has not been released except in a development version. You can download it, but it appears that it is not being packaged yet with systems. Typically it takes web hosting services a couple of years to offer it once released.
I'm very sure the authors of WebCalendar would be very interested in hearing what you change to get it to work on PHP 6.
I do know that in PHP 6 that register_globals, register_long_arrays, and magic_quotes_gpc have been completely removed in this version. PHP 5.3.0 I believe depreaciated them.

I'm not sure this app has been tested on PHP 6 yet, so I'm not sure what you are going to run into. I know PHP 6 is dropping several items although WebCal should run.
If you can install on a PHP 5 system and see if your problem goes away you might try that. PHP 6 is the new kid on the block and is going to be a more secure installation. This means that some code may need changing to work. WebCal works very well under PHP 5 so I would not expect any problems with PHP 6.
From your post it looks like this is a local server setup. Take a look at you server logs and see what is causing the problem. They should be under your Apache Logs. It could be your sever is not fully configured to run PHP 6 yet. Are you able to run some other PHP scripts? Try to run a phpinfo.php script. This will dump your PHP installation configurations. If you have set this system up yourself it may not be complete yet.

I run my scripts locally to determine the functionality before I move them to the web. I do run PHP6 for many apps both locally and on the web.
I looked at the Apache log and see errors referring to :
PHP Warning: Directive 'register_globals' is no longer supported in PHP 6 and greater in Unknown on line 0

I don't know if these are causing the hard Apache error (odd, because these errors typically get echoed back to the browser and cause the script to die gracefully).
Now the trick is to scour the scripts and find where these reside. I cleaned up many of them
Yep, all of those have been removed from PHP 6 as I understand it. They have been security issues with these in the past and PHP actually defaults to register_globals = Off but I have noticed that some web host are turnning it on so that old scripts run. I now turn it off on my host in the php.ini.
I think I have seen somewhere on this forum that WebCal needs register_long_arrays to be on, but I'm not sure.
I would attempt to execute the WebCal and then go look at the error logs to see if they appear again.
I'm surprised that you found a host running PHP 6. From what I'm seeing version 6 is still under development and has not been released except in a development version. You can download it, but it appears that it is not being packaged yet with systems. Typically it takes web hosting services a couple of years to offer it once released.

I'm very sure the authors of WebCalendar would be very interested in hearing what you change to get it to work on PHP 6.
I do know that in PHP 6 that register_globals, register_long_arrays, and magic_quotes_gpc have been completely removed in this version. PHP 5.3.0 I believe depreaciated them.
