Just installed a new server... added Webmin and Virtualmin... the normal routine. I don't think I missed anything with my sendmail configuration as it does receive mail and at least forward mail. But for some reason Virtualmin doesn't think sendmail is running no matter what I try within Virtualmin, but yet at the same time the Sendmail module does think Sendmail is running. As this is a fresh install, this would be all the latest modules/packages. Any ideas? John Hinton |

And also, the 'System and Server Status' module thinks sendmail isn't running? This is CentOS 4.4. Maybe I just need to walk away from it and I'll be hit with a blinding moment of ... <we'll leave our the rest of this saying> but I must be missing something stupid? John Hinton |

This may be a bug in Virtualmin .. what exact error message is it giving you about Sendmail? Or is it just now showing it as running on the main page? - Jamie |

Check that in the Sendmail module, on the Module Config page, the 'Full path to sendmail pid files' is set correctly. It should be something like /var/run/sendmail.pid, or whatever is appropriate for your system. - Jamie |

It's late (or early) here in the eastern time zone. I'll do some digging in the logs on a couple of boxes tomorrow to see if I can find anything different. Thanks, John Hinton |
