Hi all, Just a quickie. How do we set the idle timeout for FTP connections? The current 300 seconds is frustrating. I've set proftp to 3600 to no avail and even added a keepalive setting to the Apache conf directives. thanks, Dan *************** Being a conservative is not an illness **************** |

That should have fixed it but it doesn't reread the config file until restarting the service. John Hinton |

Hi John, I'm using ProFTP as a standalone default for the shared IP hosting, not as a virtual server. I even rebooted the entire system to no avail. From: John Hinton <web...@ew...> To: web...@li... Hi, Actually Webmin didn't have a setting for holding a session in ProFTP. the command is: <Global> </Global> #TimeoutIdle 999 TimeoutNoTransfer 999 The timeoutidle command seemingly has no effect on keeping an idle FTP session open. I also note the maximum open session (at least for Slackware) is 999 seconds. I'd set it to 3600 and it timed out at 600. Thanks, Dan > da...@so... wrote: > > Hi all, > > > > Just a quickie. You can actually set these in Webmin, on the Networking Options page which is linked from the ProFTPd module main menu.. - Jamie On Sun, 2006-03-19 at 15:46, da...@so... wrote: > Hi, > Actually Webmin didn't have a setting for holding a session in > ProFTP. > > the command is: > > <Global> > </Global> > #TimeoutIdle 999 > TimeoutNoTransfer 999 > > The timeoutidle command seemingly has no effect on keeping an > idle FTP session open. Ooops! Hi Jamie, I applied this and now the mail does in fact go to the proper place in the home directory but now POP isn't picking it up, not sure how pop gets directed. I'm sending this from usermin. To: web...@li...
