I think that a calendar/events module would be an incredible addition to usermin! (more if it has some kind of "shared calendars" and a "central calendar")... this sugestion came from users. I did see many GPL calendars based on perl... one on apache mod_perl... it is possible to port them to usermin??? (the question cames becuase I'm doing my best to *not* to run apache in that server, a dedicated e-mail server) Cheers! Marcos |

However, after playing with Horde and Kronolith, I am beginning to think that it may not be necessary .. Kronolith is already an excellent shared web-based Calendar, so there isn't much point re-inventing the wheel right now. - Jamie |

can Kronolith (or any other) run on webmin *instead* than apache??? my goal is a minimalistic system... only those services really needed running! (and it's for a mail server). (I was able to use mailman with webmin -- no apache was needed... :) thanks and Cheers! I think you'd have a hard time running a PHP application like Kronolith under Virtualmin, as it probably depends on Apache's mod_php. Then again, it may work .. you could try just copying the Horde directory somewhere under the Webmin root, and accessing it. - Jamie On Sat, 2006-01-14 at 20:45, Marcos Rubinstein wrote: > can Kronolith (or any other) run on webmin *instead* than apache??? my > goal is a minimalistic system... only those > services really needed running! no php... thanks ;)... the idea is to have only Webmin/Usermin for web based access of clients... (adding php means that I need to keep an eye on one more security hole!... one of the beauties of Webmin/Usermin is how solid they are security wise!)... I'm checking several Perl-based calendars.. of course, with my very low knowledge of perl... customization will be a problem :( but.... I improvise and I learn ;) Thanks Marcos On Sat, 14 Jan 2006, Jamie Cameron wrote: > I think you'd have a hard time running a PHP application like Kronolith > under Virtualmin, as it probably depends on Apache's mod_php. thanks... I did tried with Plans... was very fast to install :)... of course.. will require a lot of work to really implement it within usermin... I need to check their authentication system... and see how it could be change to use usermin's... also, I'll need to see if it is possible to change from an unified data directory to a separate data directory per user. But in the meanwhile... it solves my problem. Cheers!
