Hi Ryan, The standard Webmin BIND module works fine with BIND 9. The only thing it= cannot do is manage zones that are dynamic - that is, they are updated b= y other programs such as DHCPd once BIND is already running. - Jamie -----Original Message----- From: "RYAN M. vAN GINNEKEN" <lu...@co...> Subj: Re: [webmin-l] Webmin Module b9ddns Date: Sat 11 Mar 2006 1:53 pm Size: 2K To: web...@li... Is that why I see complaints about the .jnl file from time to time? Because I am using dynamic zones and when I try to apply changes via webmin, I do seem to run into that... Hi Craig, If you are using Webmin to manage a zone that is being dynamically update= d, you will run into problems.. This is because Webmin updates the zone f= iles directly, but BIND may also be update its in-memory data from those = zone files, causing them to get out of sync. Right now, there isn't really any solution apart from the poorly-maintain= ed b9dns module.. =20 - Jamie -----Original Message----- From: Craig White <cra...@az...> Subj: Re: [webmin-l] Webmin Module b9ddns Date: Sat 11 Mar 2006 10:18 pm Size: 2K To: web...@li... I knew there was a problem before and I didn't know why - at least I now know why. Craig |
