[webmin-l] FTP monitor with $ in password string

I needed to add an FTP-type monitor to Webmin today, which I haven't 
played with before.

I'm, however, running into somewhat of a snag. The password contains a 
$, which seems to fubar the check.

If I use the same credentials from CLI, it works, but not in Webmin.

I seems like a bug but just to test, if using

\$

instead of

$

..helps? :)

Is it an FTPS server that you're testing, or a regular un-encrypted FTP server?

It's a regular un-encrypted FTP-server.

Can you confirm that it's specifically the $ character that causes problems?

I know it's not a yes or no answer, but it works when I enter the 
password manually from an interactive prompt.

I'm having trouble re-producing this. Which FTP server are you connecting
to there?
