A little concerned to receive webmin 1.880 via the http://download.webmin.com/download/repository repository, yet the 
tar current version is 1.870.

Which is current version please, Is there a problem with 1.880?

No, the release was just delayed a bit due to problems at sourceforge. It's going out now though.
