[webmin-l] LDAP Users Module - /etc/skel contents not copied

Hi Jamie,

Another problem I have come across using 1.263.  When I create an LDAP
user the files/dirs in /etc/skel are not copied to their home
directory.  I have tried both putting /etc/skel in the LDAP Users module
or reading the setting from the Users & Groups module and it fails in
both cases.  If I create a local Unix user using the Users and Groups
module it works fine.

That's odd, because I just tested this myself with Webmin 1.263, and it worked
fine. I presume you have the 'Copy files into new home directories from' option
on the Module Config page set to /etc/skel ?

Hi Jamie,

I think I have finally figured out the cause of all my recent user
creation problems.  I tried creating a new user with the Samba Login bit
off and the user got home dir got created fine with files in their home
directory, no cyrus authentication error, and the post user creation
script ran fine.  Looks like a problem with my Samba setup - the
objectclasses have changed in my LDAP config so there might be the
problem with some of my LDAP groups imported from the old LDAP setup. 
Not sure why I was having all the errors and issues seemingly unrelated
to Samba though?

I can't see why enabling Samba would prevent the home directory from being
populated .. they are really un-connected. Are you sure that turning on
Samba for a user causes the /etc/skel files not to be copied?
