Subject: Planning on setting up Postfix + Dovecot + Webmail + Apache + MariaDB + PHP using Webmin Control Panel in the Cloud Good day from the Republic of Singapore, I am planning to setup Postfix Email Server + Dovecot IMAP/POP3 Incoming Mail Server + Webmail (Roundcube or Squirrelmail) + Apache Web Server + MariaDB Database Server + PHP using Webmin Control Panel specifically, in the cloud, preferably Amazon EC2. Are there any very good and well written guides on doing this type of setup? I am looking forward to your reply. Thank you very much. +1 I use Virtualmin on servers even if only one website is planned. It sets up everything quite nicely. And it is a nice segmentation layer, so you can later have other sites which different permissions. I suggest you pick an OS with MariaDB by default (So Debian and not Ubuntu which uses MySQL) One "weakness": it doesn't automatically offer multiple versions of PHP. So you need to fiddle on this to get it working. This is something we addressed in the wrapper script here: https://gitlab.com/wikisuite/virtualmin-installer Best regards, Marc -- Marc Laporte Founder, WikiSuite.org CEO, EvoluData.com https://wikisuite.org/The-most-comprehensive-and-integrated-Open-Source-enterprise-solution On Wed, 21 Apr 2021 11:00:38 -0400 Webmin users list web...@li... said > > From: Turritopsis Dohrnii Teo En Ming <ceo...@gm...> > > Sent: Wednesday, April 21, 2021 10:41 AM > > To: web...@li... > > Subject: [webmin-l] Planning on setting up Postfix + Dovecot + Webmail + > > Apache + MariaDB + PHP using Webmin Control Panel in the Cloud > > > > I am planning to setup Postfix Email Server + Dovecot IMAP/POP3 Incoming Mail > > Server + Webmail (Roundcube or Squirrelmail) + Apache Web Server + MariaDB > > Database Server + PHP using Webmin Control Panel specifically, in the cloud, > > preferably Amazon EC2. > > Are there any very good and well written guides on doing this type of setup? > > Personally, I would just setup a Virtualmin site, it will pre-setup a > LAMP/Email server for you. > https://www.virtualmin.com/ > > Sincerely, > > Eric Tykwinski > TrueNet, Inc. > P: 610-429-8300 > > > > > > > > - > Forwarded by the Webmin mailing list at web...@li... > To remove yourself from this list, go to > http://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/webadmin-list |

Thank you Ilia! Has there been any thought/discussion about making this part of the standard installation script? Via the script, we could determine which versions of PHP are * installed or not (save disk space) * active or not (save RAM but easily activate later in the GUI) Would a merge request for this be considering favorably? Thanks! *> Would a merge request for this be considering favorably?* Thanks but I don't think so. We install only default PHP version provided by the OS. If admin wants to install an extra PHP version(s), no problem, however it cannot be the part of default installation. The less installation steps the better.
