[webmin-devel] Custom modules and remote API

Hello,

I'm currently investigating the possibility to use virtualmin in our 
shared hosting environment.
Since we will need custom modules I'm also trying to figure out if/how 
it is possible expose functions added in a custom module through 
virtualmin Remote API calls..

 From the documentation it looks like Remote API is used to call the 
same functions that can be called through the commandline virtualmin 
script.
So probably my question should sound more like "How can I export my 
custom module functions to the virtualmin script" ?

Hi Andrea,

This is definitely possible - if your module is a Virtualmin plugin
that has been enabled on the Feature and Plugins page, you can create
scripts in the module directory named like your-api-call.pl that have a
similar structure to the .pl scripts for the core Virtualmin API (which
can be seen in the virtual-server directory).

Thanks Jamie. I'll try that.

Another question: what's the status of the import function for Direct 
Admin backups?
Are there any useful links/docs for some kin of conversion betweena DA 
managed system and Virtualmin?

Directadmin migration is fully supported - you can either use the 
migrate-domain command with the --type directadmin flag, or select that
type on the migration for in the UI.
